Frequently Asked Questions about Invisalign

Dental

We’ve been providing Invisalign for years and our patients are delighted with the results. For new patients considering Invisalign, we get the same questions asked time and time again, so we’ve addressed the top Frequently Asked Questions in this blog post.

  1. How do I get started with Invisalign?

Book an appointment with Broomhill Dental. Your appointment is free, and we will start planning your treatment with our planning tools. This includes a digital mouth scan so you can see exactly what your smile will look like.

  1. How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The length of treatment will vary depending on your needs. Many patients achieve their desired result with Invisalign in 6 to 18 months, with some seeing changes in as little as 3 months.

  1. Does Invisalign hurt?

Invisalign is less painful than traditional braces. You may feel slight discomfort when switching to a new aligner, but this typically fades within a few days.

  1. How often should I wear my aligners?

For the best results, wear your Invisalign aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, drink (except water), and clean your teeth.

  1. Will Invisalign affect my speech?

There may be a slight adjustment period, but most patients adapt quickly and experience minimal impact on their speech.

  1. Can I eat and drink with Invisalign?

Aligners should be removed before eating or drinking anything other than water. This helps prevent staining and damage. You can also use a straw however we recommend taking out your Invisalign aligner instead.

  1. How do I clean my aligners?

Clean your aligners daily with lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush or Invisalign cleaning crystals to keep them clear and fresh.

  1. Have you got any case studies?

We have some great before and after photos of Invisalign treatment on our blog. This patient followed Invisalign with teeth whitening and composite bonding. As we have a multi-disciplinary team, we were able to help the patient from start to finish.
