FAQ
Q: What can I do to protect my child’s teeth and gums?
A: To help protect your children’s teeth and gums, teach them to follow these steps:
- Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove plaque- the main cause of tooth decay.
- Eat a well-balanced diet that limits sugary foods, which produce plaque acids that cause tooth decay.
- Avoid sugary snacks in between meals
- Take your child to the dentist for regular check-ups, this helps alleviate dental anxiety.
Regular dental check ups from a young age are proven to be the best way to prevent dental anxiety. At Broomhill Dental we will welcome you and your child in a friendly and engaging atmosphere to help build a trusting relationship with them.
We will tailor each appointment specifically to your child. During each dental examination, we will speak with the parents and the child together about an appropriate oral hygiene regime and offer dietary advice.
With children that are suitable for the Childsmile programme, appointments can be made to see the Childsmile nurse and for a dental examination at the same time. The dentist and Childsmile nurse will work in tandem to ensure your child receives the best care and advice possible.
